Milah is a cop – a Black female cop – on patrol in Oakland, CA. When she witnesses her white male partner shoot and kill Espiridion, an unarmed 15-year-old Latinx boy, the pressure is on – from the DA, from Milah’s fellow cops, from her wife, from her community, and from herself. As Jovano, Espiridion’s older brother, also deals with the aftermath, he finds himself alone, and having to make decisions based on his heart, and the spirit voices of his dead family.
