In alignment with our mission, our goal of our community engagement programming is to further develop community partnerships with local and regional theatre and social justice organizations focused on promoting diverse voices, youth leadership and activism. We commit to being responsible stewards of community values, and to listen, share, and problem solve together. We seek to foster safe and supportive spaces for Oakland youth of color and the community at large.

There are many ways to partner with Gritty City Repertory:

  • Share your organization's initiatives, campaigns and specials events with our patrons through our e-blast and social media communications.

  • Use our studio at deeply discounted rates for your community events.

  • Co-produce mission aligned events.

  • Attend our productions with your staff or youth members at deeply discounted rates, with the opportunity to book tickets well before online ticket sales begin.

  • Support our apprenticeship program by becoming a season subscriber and/or a donor. Our ensemble members are young adults between the ages of 14-24 years old. We not only provide free pre-professional training, but also the opportunity to apprentice in acting, tech, and arts administration, and receive a paid stipend for their training.
